About TrademarkToolbox

A trademark screening tool built on the full US federal register, made for people deciding whether a name is safe to build a business on.

What this is

Most people discover a trademark problem after they have printed the signage. The federal register is public, but it is not easy to search well: a name can be blocked by something spelled differently, pronounced the same, translated from another language, or simply containing your name plus a generic word. We do those checks in one pass and explain which conflicts actually matter.

Where the data comes from

USPTO public bulk data, ingested directly rather than scraped from a third party:

The index is rebuilt continuously and every figure on this site is computed from it, not written by hand.

What it is not

This is not legal advice, and we are not a law firm. Automated screening finds conflicts; deciding what they mean for your situation is a judgement a licensed trademark attorney makes. We show our reasoning so you can take a specific, informed question to one rather than paying for a search you have already done.

We also do not sell placement. Nobody pays to appear in our attorney rankings, nobody pays to be excluded from a conflict list, and there is no advertising on this site.

Corrections
