What this counts, and what it does not

These lists rank parties by the number of proceedings they have filed at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, taken from USPTO public records. Nothing here is a finding about anyone's conduct.

Volume mostly tracks portfolio size. A company holding thousands of registrations will oppose far more often than one holding a handful, and the overwhelming majority of oppositions are ordinary, legitimate enforcement of rights the owner is obliged to police. A high position on this list is not evidence of overreach, and we make no such claim about any party named.

Extensions of time to oppose are counted separately from oppositions throughout. They are roughly a third of all filings at the Board and are not themselves proceedings. Methodology · Request a correction
